Strand of Idar-Oberstein Faceted Bicone beads
24" strand of carnelian agate beads from Mali, made in Idar-Oberstein, Germany in the mid – late 1800s. Material (agate) from Brazil, cut in Germany, then traded in Mali. This squared bicone shape is precisely cut, multi-faceted, and has a 1mm hole. Size approximately17mm x 15mm. 40 beads from very good to excellent condition (see photos).
