Large Mauritanian Amber Bead Necklace
24" strand of large round-shaped beads is over 100 years old and is found in Mauritania and Niger. It is copal amber made from plant resin, probably simulated man-made "Amber" Trade beads, but just as rare! Average size of these rare beads is 30-31mm diameter x 19-20mm thick; stringing hole is approximately 1.5-2mm. Some of these beads have great sub-surface passages.
