Antique Ceramic Spindle Whorl Beads, Dogon
Set of 5 old, and rare ceramic "spindle whorl" beads from the Dogon tribe in Mali. These are made of a dark clay with some various lines and dots, but some are plain. Some bicone, some round, some flat ended, no two alike! Average diameter is 30mm. Cotton spinning with a weighted drop-spindle still goes on today in Mali. These are particular to Dogon Tribal People and are as old as 200 years! One-of-a-kind. Sold in a group of 5 various sizes and shapes. These are smaller beads, with rich patina from wear and use, and excellent quality! 5 wonderful beads.
