Ancient Roman Glass Beads, Mali
Charming 18" strand of 2000 year old Roman Era glass beads, traded in Mali. Awesome collection of mixed beads: wide rage of shapes in a lovely grey with calcification (see photos for examples). They were excavated around the ancient trading city of Djenné (which is near Timbuktu) in the country of Mali. A few granite beads, and ceramic center bead (Which were made in Mali). This graduated strand ranges from tiny 2mm x 3mm to 9mm in diameter with very small holes. Last photo shows strands numbers AFGHAN28B and C.
