Wedding Bead Mix
West African bead merchants refer to these Czech glass pendants as "Wedding Beads", traditionally worn in Mali in weddings. These colorful candy-like baubles are so versatile in design work. A spacer in-between allows each bead to hang down. Strung one after another, the beads will string up and down on the string. Great for earrings. Strands are strung in pairs, 21 beads per strand, 6 inches long. Beads vary in size and shape, mostly a briolette shape. Center bead is 24mm tall, 14mm widest bottom. Smallest briolettes are 14mm x 8mm. Hexagonal beads are 15mm tall, 17mm wide. Strands vary slightly in paired colors. Made in Czech Republic in the 1920's-40's.
