Triangular Bohemia Glass Pendant, Green
These famous triangular focal beads were made in Czech Republic region, and imitate a traditional Cone shell bead from Tanzania and East Africa region. They were named "Vibangwa" in Swahili which in their traditional cone shell were made by cutting the top off and creating a flat shape with the shell's natural grooves. These were highly prized and worn by important people in society. The glass imitations were produced as far back as the slave trade. These are in very fine condition and measure 50mm x 28mm. The semi-circular groves are on one side, and the back is smooth. Very rare in this condition, however there are signs of wear. Hole size is 1 1/2 mm.
