Strand of Antique Dark Green, Black, and Clear Bonda Beads from India
30" strand of irregular dark green, black and clear glass beads from the Bonda (or Bondo) tribe of the state of Odisha (formerly Orissa), an eastern Indian state on the Bay of Bengal. These beads are 100-300 years old. Average bead size varies from 3mm long x 5mm diameter to 4mm long x 8mm in diameter, with large 2-3mm hole. The Bonda tribe is one of the oldest in mainland India; their culture has changed little for more than a thousand years.
