Large Thai Buddhist Pendant
Ceramic Buddha pendant from Thailand, encased in a base metal frame and 8mm jump ring for hanging. The upside-down heart shape that is die-cut into the back of the pendant represents enlightenment (this started in the 2nd century BC when Buddhists began inscribing the symbol as a way of depicting the fig leaf, which, to them, represented enlightenment). 62mm x 30mm x 5mm thick. Very, very cool.
