Old Dogon Purple Glass Strand
28" strand of rare glass beads from Mali. Dutch- made and traded with the Dogon People in the 1700's. Assorted sizes and color, but these are primarily soft light-purple glass beads that are hand-faceted but have worn smooth over the centuries. Some of the beads have heavy calcification. Graduated strand 7mm x 9mm to 20mm x 21mm. African bead dealers refer to the purple Dutch glass as "Television" beads.
