Strand of small Idar-Oberstein Faceted Bicone beads
18" strand of carnelian agate beads from Mali, made in Idar-Oberstein, Germany in the mid – late 1800s. Material (agate) from Brazil, cut in Germany, then traded in Mali. This squared bicone shape is precisely cut, multi-faceted, and has a 1mm hole. Size varies from 6mm x 5mm diameter to 15-16mm long x 15mm diameter. 25 beads from very good to excellent condition (see photos).
