Black and Clear Bonda Beads from India
30" strand of irregular mostly black glass beads with some clear, dark green, and navy blue in the mix; from the Bonda (or Bondo) tribe of the state of Odisha (formerly Orissa), an eastern Indian state on the Bay of Bengal. These beads are over 100 years old. Average bead size varies from 3-5mm long x 5-7mm diameter to 4mm long x 8mm in diameter. The Bonda tribe is one of the oldest and most primitive in mainland India; their culture has changed little for more than a thousand years.
