Antique Lion Pendant from India
Antique lion pendant from India made of high-content silver. 43mm tall x 38mm x 2mm thick (semi-solid silver backing) with a 7mm loop. The lion could represent either of two Hindu deities: it could be for the goddess Durga (she rides a lion) or the lion-aspect of the god Vishnu, and the lion is also adopted by the Sikhs as one of their symbols. "Singh" is a common Sikh and Hindu surname meaning "lion."
